According to Bloomberg, Ferretti Spa is evaluating a bid to acquire all or part of The Italian Sea Group, the Marina di Carrara-based group headed by Giovanni Costantino and specializing in the construction of yachts, superyachts, and pleasure boats with brands such as Admiral, Tecnomar, Perini Navi, and Picchiotti. According to the agency, the group, currently led by new CEO Stassi Anastassov, is discussing a possible approach should the group end up on the market.

The indiscretion comes as The Italian Sea Group is engaged in a restructuring process initiated in recent months. In March, the company announced that it had filed a request for the appointment of an independent expert, initiating the process for a negotiated resolution of the crisis and simultaneously requesting the application of asset protection measures against creditors.

There are currently no official comments from The Italian Sea Group, while a statement released by Ferretti clarifies that, at present, no such negotiations are underway either with the aforementioned company or with its major shareholders. At the same time, as a leading operator in the Italian nautical sector and in line with its external growth strategy, Ferretti constantly evaluates and monitors market opportunities. Without prejudice to the foregoing, should Ferretti—in accordance with its external growth strategy—conduct extraordinary transactions and/or business combinations, it will not disclose such transactions to the market in accordance with the procedures and deadlines required by law.
