The new Vittoria LC Superfast 225 challenges the limits of exploration
Cantiere Navale Vittoria exhibited its 22,4-metre dual-use explorer at the Venice Boat Show, designed to reach areas normally closed to traditional yachts
Venice – Among the most distinctive vessels exhibited at the seventh edition of the Venice Boat Show, the Vittoria LC Superfast 225 stood out. This explorer yacht developed by Cantiere Navale Vittoria offers an alternative vision of the expedition and explorer segments. Displayed at the Arsenale, the model represents a synthesis of the worlds of professional vessels and recreational boating. The project stems from the Adria-based shipyard's experience in building work and landing craft, transposing solutions typical of operational vessels into a yacht intended for private use.
At 22,4 meters long and featuring a draft of just 85 centimeters, the Vittoria LC Superfast 225 was designed to reach areas normally difficult or impossible to explore for traditional yachts. Shallow waters, beaches, remote bays, and inaccessible coastal areas become an integral part of its operational range. A distinctive feature of the project is its hydrojet propulsion, a choice that allows for a combination of shallow draft, excellent maneuverability, and speeds approaching 30 knots. This solution draws directly from the shipyard's experience building high-performance professional vessels and significantly expands the yacht's potential compared to conventional explorer yachts.
The dual-use concept also emerges from the organization of the exterior spaces. The stern features a large area dedicated to outdoor activities, designed for sport fishing and diving. At the bow, the large folding hatch is explicitly reminiscent of landing craft, allowing the transport and movement of vehicles and equipment directly to land. At the Arsenale, in fact, an off-road vehicle was located in the bow area, ready to continue exploration ashore via the landing craft-style ramp. Two handling cranes complete the equipment, increasing the vessel's operational flexibility and allowing for the handling of tenders, equipment, and support vehicles. This is an unusual configuration for a yacht of this size, but consistent with the vessel's design philosophy.
Stylistically, the LC Superfast 225 focuses on clean lines and a functional aesthetic. The volumes evoke the professional world without sacrificing the comfort standards demanded by contemporary yachting clientele. With this model, Cantiere Navale Vittoria offers a new interpretation of the explorer yacht concept: a vessel capable of combining performance, accessibility to extreme scenarios, and operational versatility, while maintaining the level of comfort and build quality required by the large yacht market. Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the centennial celebrations. Next year, the Adria-based shipyard will celebrate its first century of operation.
