The Italian rib brand Bwa has been chosen as the supplier of the tenders for the first two sailing ships of the Orient Express Sailing Yachts projectThe Italian company has built two 8,5-meter GTO range inflatable boats, chosen to operate aboard the Orient Express Corinthian and Orient Express Olympian, the 220-meter vessels built (the first) and currently under construction (the second) at Chantiers de l'Atlantique.

The tenders are equipped with 300 hp Cox Marine diesel outboard engines. The choice of diesel outboard propulsion is part of a project that also focuses on energy efficiency and emissions reduction, a key theme for the future Orient Express sailing yachts, equipped with the three-masted SolidSail sail system. For BWA, the order represents the first step in a program that unites shipbuilding and high-end hospitality. The Orient Express Sailing Yachts project is a collaboration between Accor and Chantiers de l'Atlantique.

"Participating in this unique adventure with Orient Express Sailing Yachts," the company stated, "for the world's largest sailing vessel, represents an opportunity for BWA to leverage our expertise in a new era of luxury at sea. This synergy confirms our position in the premium segment and our ability to meet the highest standards."

The GTO line chosen for the project is one of the Italian shipyard's premium ranges and focuses on high habitability, hulls suitable for intensive use, and layouts designed to combine comfort and functionality. In this case, the tenders will be used both for transferring guests and for operational activities related to life on board. The second sailing yacht is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
