Laghezza diversifies with the new Soluzione Nautica division

Customs and logistics for yachting: a dedicated team and focus on customs compliance

Laghezza SpA, a customs services and port transport operator, has announced the creation of Soluzione Nautica, a business line entirely dedicated to the pleasure boating and superyacht sector.

The goal of the new division, the La Spezia-based company explains in a statement, is to respond to the growing demand for simplification and regulatory compliance in a sector characterized by particularly complex tax and customs regulations, especially when it comes to vessels flying non-EU flags, refits, or imports of high-value components.

The new business line is structured around a team of professionals with vertical expertise. The team's operational leadership has been entrusted to customs broker Ugo Cavalli, a figure with specific experience in the maritime and recreational boating sector.

From a services perspective, Soluzione Nautica will focus on assistance and completion of permanent or temporary import and export procedures; inward and outward processing (essential for maintenance and refitting of foreign vessels in Italy); and management of Toro procedures, i.e., the transfer of goods under the mandatory transit regime.

Laghezza SpA's strategy focuses on the hinterland of La Spezia, one of the hubs of Italy's major shipbuilding industry. The company offers its bonded warehouses to ensure the storage and rapid supply of onboard materials and industrial components, optimizing ship downtime and shipyard schedules. The offering is complemented by road freight transport, managed by a company-owned fleet, reducing intermediation and the associated risks of operational delays.

"This is a strategic decision that consolidates our position in the rapidly growing recreational boating and shipbuilding sectors," explained Simone Malaspina, general manager of the Solutions Division of Laghezza SpA, adding that efficiency, speed, and specialized skills are key factors and that with a dedicated team, the division is ready to serve as a single point of reference for the entire logistics and customs supply chain.
