RUPES SpA and IMRON™ Marine Coatings announce a collaboration to standardize surface finishing applications
Surface finishing in the nautical industry is characterized by extremely high standards: complete defect removal, perfect finish, and deep gloss. The RUPES–IMRON™ collaboration meets these needs.

— CORPORATE COMMUNICATION —
RUPES SpA, a leading company in professional tools and finishing systems, has announced a new collaboration with IMRON™ Marine Coatings (Axalta group)The aim of this partnership is to support marine industry professionals through the implementation of standard application procedures in surface finishing processes, designed to improve consistency and the final appearance of surfaces, whether for new-build boats, refit projects, or restoration work.
Greater efficiency
Surface finishing in the marine sector is defined by extremely high standards: deep gloss, sharp reflections, and complete defect removal. The RUPES–IMRON™ collaboration addresses these needs by applying proven finishing procedures involving the use of RUPES sanding and polishing systems.
The "STANDARD FINISHING PROCEDURES"have been implemented not only for their clear technical and application-related benefits, but also from a management perspective, to ensure greater efficiency wherever repeatability and standardization of results are essential. In fact, a standardized procedure allows operators to select the best combination of tools, abrasives, pads, and compounds, ensuring not only the highest finish quality on every surface and in every application, but also proven savings in process time and costs.
A proven procedure
The procedure is divided into finishing cycles based on the two most widely used professional polishing methods: random orbital and rotary. This allows operators to choose the most suitable approach according to surface type and working conditions, while maintaining a high-quality result.
The combination of the various RUPES products used on IMRON™ Marine Coatings has been optimized to ensure the best possible result with any finishing cycle, on every application and surface.
Availability and support
The process layout and usage guidelines are provided in a simple practical guide for OEMs, boatyards, and industry professionals, available online and downloadable from the RUPES website. The guide includes recommended cycles and suggested products, and is ideal for consultation and printing, so that all information is always readily available.
