Videoworks presents Avit Panel, an “overlay” platform for on-board digital systems
The operational burden of AV/IT infrastructure on superyachts is growing. The new platform aims to centralize control, monitoring, and maintenance of networks, connectivity, automation, and video surveillance in a single web interface.

The growing complexity of onboard digital infrastructure is pushing system integrators in the superyacht sector towards platforms capable of unifying operational management, diagnostics, and system control. This is where Avit Panel comes in, a solution developed by Videoworks to integrate onboard audio-video, IT, connectivity, security, and environmental management systems into a single interface. The project was born with an "overlay" approach: the platform does not replace existing equipment but rather overlays the existing infrastructure, connecting different systems through a web-based environment accessible from any device. This approach is particularly relevant in the refit segment and on large custom yachts, where technological architectures and configurations can be highly heterogeneous.
The stated goal is to simplify the daily operations of crews, captains, and onboard technicians by reducing the number of separate interfaces required to monitor and control the vessel. The dashboard is configurable based on user roles and uses customizable widgets to display only information relevant to individual operational skills. From a technical standpoint, Avit Panel integrates environmental parameter monitoring, with real-time control of temperature and humidity in sensitive areas such as server rooms, engine rooms, and technical rooms. The system can send automatic notifications via email, Telegram, Modbus, or UHF radio in the event of anomalies or when preset thresholds are exceeded.
Particular attention has also been paid to energy management. The platform supports remote control of PDUs (power distribution units), allowing you to activate, deactivate, or restart individual electrical appliances directly from the dashboard. This feature can speed up troubleshooting and reduce intervention times during navigation or at anchor. On the security front, Avit Panel incorporates CCTV system management with direct control of PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras, as well as integration of access policies and network devices. The platform also includes dedicated firewall management tools and configurable operating presets based on usage scenarios, such as "Captain on Board," "Crew Only," or "Charter" modes.
Another key element is satellite connectivity monitoring, particularly for Starlink systems. The platform analyzes speed, latency, service continuity, signal quality, and any obstacles, providing both real-time and historical data on antenna performance. From an IT management perspective, Avit Panel introduces network topology visualization tools and a Traffic Analyzer for data flow analysis, with dedicated filters for IP addresses, protocols, and VLANs. These functions are designed to simplify diagnostics, maintenance, and the identification of critical issues in onboard digital infrastructure. The platform also includes a centralized document library with natural language search and a Query module that uses QR codes or barcodes to identify devices and connections during technical interventions. Integration also extends to interior management through the GA (General Arrangement) module, which allows for the control of lighting, curtains, and air conditioning for individual areas of the yacht, as well as the entertainment component with virtual remote controls, audio-video source assignment, and centralized management of AV scenarios.
