Octopus, an explorer yacht belonging to the Deep Blue 115 series, has been launched. As explained in a note from the builder Cantiere delle Marche, it takes inspiration from the Deep Blue 141, named Acala.
Initially conceived as a one-off project, the Deep Blue concept attracted such interest that the shipyard decided to transform it into a structured series. As Vasco Buonpensiere, CEO of CdM, emphasized, the aim was to express a strong design language across different sizes, while maintaining the vessel's philosophy intact: a robust, functional yet elegantly sophisticated explorer.
Octopus, acquired in 2024 with the support of IYC and the technical collaboration of Döhle Yachts, is the result of the coordinated work between Horacio Bozzo, who oversaw the exterior design and naval architecture, and Giorgio M. Cassetta, responsible for the interiors.
Bozzo redesigned the yacht, aiming to maintain a harmonious balance across its 35-meter length. Among its defining features are the imposing bow, with its beak-look, which lends dynamism to the entire profile; the large transparent windows on the main deck, integrated with seemingly suspended uprights, lending a sense of lightness to the superstructure; and a dedicated aft relaxation area, which includes a swimming pool, storage areas, and a side-opening tender garage.
The interiors, designed by Cassetta, are an eclectic tribute to travel, expressed through organic shapes, exotic materials, and a rich color palette, designed to surprise guests in every space.
Built to tackle long, autonomous voyages, Octopus is equipped with two 533 kW Caterpillar C18 engines, allowing it to reach a top speed of 13,5 knots. A key aspect is its efficiency, which, with a fuel capacity of 45.000 liters, guarantees a range of 5.500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 9 knots.
The explorer yacht, with a gross tonnage of 299 GT, can accommodate 10 guests (plus two additional) in five cabins and a crew of seven in dedicated accommodation.
