Anti-biofouling and condensation-proof underwater lighting with the F-Series from Metro Marine Lighting
Seventy-two LEDs per lighting fixture, individual RGBW optics and two patented technologies that solve the historical critical issues of underwater lighting

Metro Marine Lighting has announced the launch of the F-Series full spectrum underwater lights, a new line of underwater lighting fixtures that integrates two patented technologies: anti-biofouling and anti-condensation. Each fixture in the series features 72 high-efficiency LEDs, a density that allows for close placement between adjacent fixtures to achieve uniform, blended light. The RGBW versions incorporate a dedicated white LED in each of the 18 LED configurations with individual lenticular optics, expanding the range of whites and color blends compared to traditional solutions. The flagship models – F-BMR1-FS-90 and F-BME1-V-FS-90 – feature 90-degree optics, suitable for medium- and large-sized vessels and structures from 10 to 30 meters. The fixtures are approved for installation up to 4,6 meters deep. The body is made of tin-bronze aluminum with silicon bronze elements. Expected applications include yachts, piers, dock walls, fountains, and theme park installations.
On the technological front, Metro Marine solves two long-standing critical issues with underwater lighting. To prevent biofouling, since 2012 the company has integrated UVC rays—the same technology used in water purification systems—directly into the LED light fixture, preventing the formation of microorganisms in any water type and temperature. To prevent condensation, Metro Marine has developed a Class 1000 cleanroom assembly process, combined with a patented dry gas assembly system derived from the aerospace and medical industries, which eliminates internal condensation and the risk of corrosion during use.
