Cyclops Marine introduces Smart Rig Manager: integrated rigging management on the plotter
A platform that transforms data from a sailing yacht's load sensors into operational guidance, from dockside adjustments to navigation and predictive maintenance.

Cyclops Marine, a company specializing in load monitoring for sailing yachts and superyachts, has introduced Smart Rig Manager, a rigging management platform compatible with Garmin, Raymarine, and B&G onboard plotters. The system translates raw data from Cyclops sensors into readable information through customized dashboards, eliminating the need to interpret numerical values. The interface is also accessible remotely via the cloud. The system supports the owner throughout every phase, from dockside to return to port. On land, it allows rigging to be adjusted according to the manufacturer's specifications, with optimal tension and maximum loads already loaded into the software. While underway, it provides continuous load feedback, flagging both overloading and underloading: the latter is often overlooked, but over time, can compromise the life of the standing rigging. After sailing, the trip analysis module provides load trends from the trip, which are useful for future decisions—including deciding whether to have the equipment checked after a day in challenging conditions.
For maintenance, Smart Rig Manager abandons the logic of fixed intervals in favor of an approach based on actual component wear, indicating when each element needs to be serviced or replaced. The system also archives a documented history of rigging use, with concrete implications for the used market: sellers can demonstrate how they treated the boat, while buyers know exactly what condition the rigging is in and when the next repairs should be scheduled. Cyclops Marine sees the system as a traceable feedback channel for the entire supply chain—shipyards, riggers, charter operators, service providers, and insurers—with the ability to verify conditions of use and make targeted recommendations. There is also a specific aspect related to new yachts: during the first outings, the standing rigging settles in while the owner is still gaining familiarity with the boat, making initial adjustments more critical than usual. Smart Rig Manager simplifies these operations and shortens the learning curve, also reducing the risk of unjustified warranty claims.
“We firmly believe that Smart Rig Manager can transform the future of yacht ownership, protecting every stakeholder, from designers and riggers to service providers and insurance companies,” said Ian Howarth, CEO of Cyclops Marine.
