Civitanova Marche opens its doors to maxi yachts: new spaces at the south pier

The municipal council of Civitanova Marche (Macerata) has initiated the process to grant access to large pleasure boats, approving a preliminary investigation document for the assignment of new mooring concessions.

As reported by cronachemaceratesi.it The municipal administration has taken a decisive step toward the redevelopment of the port area, involving a portion of the southern pier, where the goal is to accommodate large pleasure craft, including luxury yachts and large catamarans. The policy represents the launch of procedures aimed at incentivizing private capital and enhancing existing infrastructure, to make the port of Civitanova a destination for high-end nautical tourism.

The organization's goal is to attract investment and revitalize the area without conflicting with fishing and shipbuilding. Following an assessment conducted by the local maritime district office, the organization has already obtained the agreement from these sectors to allow their respective activities to coexist. One recreational boating association, however, has taken a more cautious stance; it has announced its intention to submit its own alternative intervention project for the same body of water to the Municipality, specifically involving the stretch between bollards 1 and 7.

The council's vision focuses on the overall development of the port, which is centrally located to the production districts of Ancona and Fano. Opening the port to maxi yachts is seen as a strong driver of investment from various nautical operators, which would be capable of revitalizing the port, creating an integrated production system that complements the fishing industry.
