At the Miami International Boat Show, Navico Group introduced the Simrad NSO 4 and B&G Zeus SRX, the next generation of Neon-based chartplotters for motorboats and sailing boats, respectively. Both models share a software platform and full integration philosophy, but are intended for different segments. Zeus SRX is configured for the B&G sailing ecosystem with dedicated features such as SailSteer, LayLines, and StartLine, while the NSO 4 is designed as a modular, multifunction unit for offshore navigation and advanced electronic fishing. They share extensive network connectivity, advanced chart management, and an architecture designed as a central hub for the onboard system.

NSO 4 is the new multifunction display in the Simrad range designed for installation on offshore units and integrated bridges. It uses the same Neon operating system but with a different hardware architecture: it integrates a Qualcomm octa-core processor, with claimed boot times 35% faster, automatic autorouting up to ten times faster, and eight times the storage capacity compared to the previous generation. “For 80 years, Simrad has been unstoppable, pushing the boundaries to offer the marine market the most advanced electronics,” said Yasser Nafei, president of Electronic Solutions for Navico Group. “With NSO 4, we are ushering in a new era of premium multifunction displays. This launch marks a generational leap thanks to our all-new Neon operating system, the most intuitive we've ever created, offering simplicity and exceptional performance, as well as a sleek design that instantly enhances any helm. Combined with advanced sonar compatibility, stunning C-Map cartography, and seamless integration with the entire vessel, NSO 4 is the ultimate command center, designed specifically for offshore adventures.”

The system supports multiple sonar modules, Halo radar with Bird+ mode and FishCast based on ROFFS forecast data, as well as integration with engine systems and onboard networks. Simultaneous viewing can include four video streams, while the interface allows for customization via a swipe-to-reveal toolbar. Compatible with C-Map X-Gen cartography and third-party providers, NSO 4 allows direct downloads and multi-chart management. The displays are available in 16″, 22″, and 24″ sizes, with a starting price of €6.499 + VAT.

The new Zeus SRX is a chartplotter designed for installation on sailboats with integrated dashboards and a multi-display layout. The device features the Neon operating system, developed for large-format screens and for faster management of navigation applications. According to the manufacturer, the interface features a retractable toolbar, configurable shortcuts, and instant map rendering. Hardware-wise, the Zeus SRX uses a high-definition SolarMax IPS display that's visible even with polarized glasses and integrates active cooling to maintain stable performance at high ambient temperatures. It supports Wi-Fi 5, Gigabit Ethernet, and the NMEA 2000 protocol, as well as the simultaneous management of four IP cameras. The platform is designed as the central hub of the onboard system: radar, wind sensors, autopilots, and instruments are managed from a single interface. Integration with CZone allows control of electrical subsystems and onboard services. Cartographically, it supports C-Map X-Gen charts with features such as Safety Alerts and selective area downloading via X-Chart Manager.
