Marcopolo Adventure Yachts with two military-style walkarounds

Stepped hulls, high-power outboard engines, transformable layouts and advanced composite materials: the new brand enters the fast boat segment with a technical setup suitable for operating as a chaseboat at anchor for an explorer superyacht

BOOT 2026 – 17 – 25 Januar in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf (Germany) – The new Marcopolo Adventure Yachts brand enters the international market with a range of products geared towards fast yachting, yet featuring technical features and onboard solutions that can connect with the world of superyachts, particularly explorer yachts seeking large, autonomous, and marine tenders. The official debut took place at boot Düsseldorf 2026 with two models, the MP10 and MP12, developed by Rosario Alcaro and the Roberto Delfanti Design Lab, with construction entrusted to 3AF Shipyard. The concept is clear: hulls designed using CFD analysis, high-power outboard engines, large openable aft surfaces, and modular layouts that allow for conversion from open to cruiser configurations even over the vessel's lifetime.

"A clean, technical aesthetic," emphasizes Rosario Alcaro, "makes Marcopolo Adventure Yachts perfect as both open and cruisers. Their versatility stems from the numerous layout options and the seaworthiness of a hull designed to tackle any type of sea. Marcopolo stands out for its ability to appeal to different boaters and markets, thanks to layouts that can be transformed from open to cruiser with a simple change of configuration, even years later."

Within a fleet of superyachts, especially explorer-style vessels, both vessels can serve as fast chaseboats for rapid transfers, support at anchor, and guest accommodation, while still offering the comfort and finishes of a main vessel. The MP10, 9,96 meters long and 3,05 meters wide, is an asymmetric open walkaround that favors portside passage, leaving room for a large hardtop that protects the helm station and galley. The two-step hull is designed to maintain trim and stability at high speeds, a key feature for use as a fast tender even in rough seas. At the stern, we find the classic solution with folding bulwarks that expand the walkable surface and a dedicated structure around the outboard motors, topped by a rollbar with protective gates for the swim platforms. Maximum power is a pair of 450 hp outboard engines, while at the show, it will be exhibited with two 300 hp units.

The outdoor living area features a dinette with a fold-down backrest, which can serve as a table or transform into a sun lounger. A large solarium dominates the bow, designed as a relaxation area for the superyacht's guests during anchorages. Below deck, for a vessel under ten meters, the livability remains impressive: a dinette forward with an optional sofa bed, a double bed aft, and a bathroom with a separate shower. This configuration also allows the MP10 to function as an overnight tender for crew or guests. Moving up in size, the MP12 reaches 12,70 meters in length with a beam of 4,05 meters and is offered in a cruiser version, with a layout that, in terms of volume and operating range, closely matches that of a main chaseboat for superyachts over 40 meters.

The hull here adopts three steps on the bottom to improve hydrodynamic efficiency and stability at high speeds. The engine options range from three 450 hp outboards, with the model on display in Düsseldorf configured with three 400 hp units. The cockpit is designed as a truly modular open space. The large aft sundeck, thanks to its foldable backrest, can face the central dinette, where two extendable tables accommodate numerous guests. With the side bulwarks lowered, the usable surface area significantly increases, creating an ideal platform for welcoming guests from the superyacht or for organizing activities at anchor. Two comfortable walkways lead to the bow, where the layout alternates a large sundeck with two seats, transforming the area into a protected lounge. This solution is well suited to the typical use of luxury tenders, often called upon to function as true floating lounges.

Below deck, the MP12 offers the space of a mini cruiser: a convertible dinette area, a double bed forward with dedicated storage, a bathroom with separate shower, and two single beds aft. This layout also allows for long transfers or logistical support for the superyacht's activities. From a stylistic standpoint, both models share a wide, flared bow, clearly inspired by military vessels. This choice is not only aesthetic but also functional, maximizing interior space. "The wide, flared bow, which in many ways recalls military vessels," explains designer Roberto Delfanti, "is a stylistic detail that positively impacts the onboard space, providing an unexpected and very welcoming outlet right at the bow."

Materials are one of the most technical aspects of the range. The hull structures use advanced composites, with recycled PET cores instead of traditional materials, to reduce weight and environmental impact without compromising strength. The bulkheads and some furnishings use honeycomb polypropylene derived from the aeronautical and automotive industries. On the MP12, the uprights and hardtop incorporate carbon fiber to improve the rigidity-to-weight ratio. Each element was studied through three-dimensional weight and stress analyses, with the goal of maintaining structural solidity even at high speeds. Even the choice of upholstery follows a technical logic. The cushions use "Space Shell" material, derived from the aerospace and motorsport sectors, capable of limiting heat absorption in the areas most exposed to the sun. The interiors are finished in "Dinamica", a technical automotive material renowned for its lightness and strength.

Part of a fleet of explorer superyachts, the MP10 and MP12 find a natural fit as large tenders. The speed guaranteed by outboard engines, the stability of stepped hulls, and the ample transformable exterior spaces make them ideal for transporting guests, for quick coastal explorations, and for experiencing the anchorage as an extension of the mother yacht. At the same time, the comprehensive interiors and quality materials allow for autonomous use for full days or short cruises, an increasingly sought-after advantage among superyacht owners. With this debut, Marcopolo Adventure Yachts enters a market segment where technology, performance, and comfort merge, offering vessels that, despite measuring under 13 meters, speak the language of support vessels for large yachts. This is a growing segment, especially in the world of explorer yachts, where the tender is no longer just a service, but an integral part of the onboard experience.
