Over 300 participants attended the annual Career Day dedicated to yachting in Genoa.

The fourth annual Genova for Yachting Career Day was held today at the Genova Blue District. The event, confirmed as an important opportunity for career guidance in the Blue Economy and superyacht sector, attracted over three hundred attendees, including students, recent high school graduates, recent graduates, and professionals interested in strengthening their career path in a sector that represents a cornerstone of the Ligurian economy.

The Career Day, a note from GFY recalls, is part of the larger Blue Skills Village project: a collaborative network that includes the Liguria Region through its Employment Centers, the University of Genoa, the Merchant Marine Academy, the Nautical Institute, and the main trade associations.

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to engage directly with twenty-two manufacturing companies participating in Genova for Yachting, as well as learn about the opportunities offered by organizations such as Assagenti, Confindustria Nautica, and Spediporto. Special attention was paid to crew training, thanks to the presence of A.Ma.Di., Italian Yacht Master, and Genova Superyacht Hub Training. The educational community was also represented, with seven classes from the city's Nautico, Spinelli, Casaregis, and Galilei institutes, demonstrating a strong generational interest in maritime professions.

Institutions have emphasized that the maritime economy is a strategic asset not only for Liguria's historical identity, but also for its future employment growth. Simona Ferro, Vice President of the Liguria Region, emphasized that this event is not an isolated incident, but part of a structured strategy that has already led to the implementation of twelve recruitment initiatives throughout the region in the first months of 2026. The goal is to foster qualified and stable job placement in response to a market that demands increasingly high-skilled workers.

Along the same lines, Genoa's Councilor for Labor, Emilio Robotti, emphasized how the Blue Skills Village works to effectively connect training and the production system. The superyacht sector, characterized by strong dynamism and a growing focus on sustainability, offers concrete opportunities for specialized profiles, and therefore direct dialogue between companies and young people is important to enhance individual skills and support innovation in the city's maritime sector.

At the end of the event, Giovanni Costaguta, president of Genova for Yachting, expressed his satisfaction with the sector's growth potential, reiterating the strategic importance of the Genova Blue District as a hub for business and innovation.

Consultants from the Job Centre, the University of Genoa, and regional employment centers provided operational support to candidates throughout the event.
