OneSails launches first sail recycling campaign
The initiative allows sailors to return used sails produced with 4T Forte technologies and receive an advantage towards the purchase of a new set.
OneSails has announced the launch of the 4T Forte Trade-In Campaign, the industry's first initiative that allows sailors to return used sails for recycling and receive a discount toward the purchase of new sails. The campaign highlights the company's commitment to environmental responsibility and circular production in the sailing industry. Customers who own used sails made with 4T Forte technology can bring them to their nearest OneSails loft and receive a special discount toward the purchase of a new set of 4T Forte sails, the only 100% recyclable sail technology available today.
"This campaign represents a concrete step forward towards sustainability in sailing," said Dede De Luca, CEO of OneSails International. "By allowing sailors to recycle their sails and reinvest in new, high-performance sails, we close the sail production cycle while offering a tangible benefit to our customers."
The program is open to all customers who have purchased sails built with 4T Forte technology since their introduction in October 2013. Returned sails are sent for recycling through a certified process managed by Eso Recycling, a company specializing in the recycling of various sporting goods. The process is managed through a micro-collection logistics system, designed to reduce environmental impact by optimizing transportation routes and minimizing emissions throughout the collection and recycling chain. Once collected, the sails are treated and recycled, ensuring that the materials are recovered and reintegrated into new production cycles whenever possible.
