NSS Charter opens two new bases in San Teodoro and Trapani.
With its entry into the north-eastern coast of Sardinia and the waters of the Egadi, the charter operator extends its infrastructure on land and consolidates its coverage of the basin

NSS Charter is adding two bases to its network for the 2026 season: one in San Teodoro, Sardinia, and the other in Trapani, Sicily. These two choices are geographically consistent with the company's existing positioning, which includes bases in Cala dei Sardi, Marina di Cala de' Medici, Marina d'Arechi, and Portorosa, filling gaps along the most popular routes in the central Mediterranean. The Sardinian base will operate at Marina di San Teodoro, on the island's northeastern coast, approximately 30 kilometers from Olbia-Costa Smeralda Airport. NSS Charter will deploy a fleet of eight catamarans there, with embarkations on Saturdays and Wednesdays, a formula already proven at the nearby Cala dei Sardi base, which allows for splitting the week and increasing vessel utilization.
The location is attractive from an operational standpoint: the marina overlooks the Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area, which means direct access to the island of Tavolara and the most famous Gallura beaches, such as La Cinta and Cala Brandinchi, without long transfers. To the north lies the Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena archipelago, while to the south lies the eastern coast all the way to Arbatax, a stretch still rarely visited by charter boats compared to the western coast. The second opening is in Trapani, a logical choice as a departure point for the Aegadian Islands. Favignana, Levanzo, and Marettimo have been experiencing growing demand from international charter clients for years, attracted by their excellently preserved seabed and improved logistical accessibility compared to other Sicilian archipelagos. From Trapani, itineraries can extend along the western coast, Scopello, San Vito Lo Capo, Castellammare del Golfo, or head towards the Stagnone lagoon of Marsala, which offers a completely different type of sailing, amidst shallow waters, salt pans, and windmills. Two distinct products that, starting from the same base, appeal to customer segments with different needs.
With these two openings, NSS Charter now offers more systematic coverage of the Italian Mediterranean, connecting Tuscany, Campania, Sardinia, and Sicily in a network that also allows for multi-base itineraries. The overall fleet comprises approximately 150 sailboats and catamarans, ranging from 10 to 24 meters, with a complement of Caribbean routes. From an industrial perspective, the expansion reflects a consolidated trend in organized charters: competitiveness is increasingly based on the widespread presence of bases and the flexibility of embarkation options, as well as the quality of the vessels. In this regard, the move to San Teodoro and Trapani appears to respond to existing market demand, rather than create it.
