The growing focus on reducing emissions and operating costs in shipyards is accelerating the electrification of hauling and launching operations, and industry players are seeking more flexible and customized solutions. This is the context in which the first electric CROC LIFT was born, developed in collaboration with the French manufacturer Fountaine Pajot and now operational at the La Rochelle plant.

The trailer, with a lifting capacity of 100 tons, was designed to operate in partial submersion and allow the hauling and launching of catamarans via the ramp on the shipyard, responding to specific operational needs related to slope, load distribution and frequency of work cycles.

In the electro-hydraulic configuration, the internal combustion engine is replaced by a high-performance, automotive-derived electric motor, liquid-cooled and powered by a latest-generation inverter. This solution allows for the instantaneous torque available even at low revs, particularly advantageous for ramp operations, while maintaining minimal overall dimensions and avoiding the oversizing typical of diesel engines.

The hydraulic components are retained for movement and lifting control and are powered by biodegradable hydraulic oil, limiting the environmental impact of any water leaks. The electric motor also reduces routine maintenance and related costs, thanks to fewer components subject to wear compared to traditional solutions.

All BOAT LIFT electric solutions are equipped with latest-generation components. The lithium battery guarantees long-lasting performance and extended operating time based on the expected work cycles. The on-board charging device ensures rapid charging, significantly reducing downtime during operations. It also allows partial charging without compromising battery life, ensuring continuous machine availability.

As an amphibious solution, the CROC LIFT cart is designed to lift boats directly from the water. The specific design with raised, watertight compartments protects sensitive components during immersion, ensuring operational continuity and safety even in harsh conditions. The dedicated anti-corrosion treatment protects the structure from marine agents, ensuring durability and reliability over time.

The electrification journey isn't limited to the CROC LIFT range. The PELICAN LIFT line of mobile quay cranes will soon be available in an electric version, with two units scheduled for delivery in the Azores in the coming months.

Patented by BOAT LIFT and introduced to the market in 2023, the PELICAN LIFT mobile quay crane stands out for its front cantilever configuration, designed to extend beyond the edge of the quay. This solution allows for hauling and launching operations without the need for dedicated tanks, an activity that often requires lengthy authorization procedures and significant infrastructure investments.

The machine is an extremely versatile solution, designed to operate on both motorboats and sailboats and catamarans. The boom geometry ensures an optimal operating radius and is designed to avoid interference with masts, rigging, and superstructures, ensuring simple and smooth operations even with large vessels.

On a product like the PELICAN LIFT quay crane, electrification allows for significantly reduced emissions and noise, meeting the needs of construction sites located in urban contexts or in areas with stringent environmental constraints.

With the introduction of the electric version of the CROC LIFT and PELICAN LIFT ranges, BOAT LIFT consolidates a development path based on custom-designed solutions geared toward customers' real operational needs. Years of experience in designing lifting and handling systems for vessels of various sizes and configurations allows the company to offer tailor-made applications that combine efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.
