Legacy 4, the new Codecasa 57, launched in Viareggio
The superyacht, Hull F81, has Caterpillar propulsion and steel and aluminum naval architecture for transoceanic navigation.
At the Ugo Codecasa Shipyards in Viareggio, the private launch of my Legacy 4, a 57-metre vessel identified as Construction F81The vessel, the result of a design collaboration between the shipyard and architect Tommaso Spadolini, has completed its outfitting phase after the hull was transferred by sea from the Pisa shipyard in December 2024.
From an engineering perspective, the Legacy 4 features a high-strength steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. This naval architecture, with a full-load displacement of approximately 785 tons, was developed to ensure stability and structural safety even in challenging sailing conditions. The yacht meets the rigorous certification standards of Lloyd's Register EMEA and is fully compliant with the regulations of the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code – Part A.
Legacy 4's propulsion system consists of two Caterpillar 3512E engines, each capable of delivering 1771 kW at 1800 rpm, allowing her to reach a top speed of 17 knots at light displacement. The efficient propulsion systems and 140.000 liters of fuel capacity ensure a range of 5.000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots, making the vessel suitable for long transoceanic voyages. Onboard stability is further enhanced by the installation of Naiad Dynamics model 720S stabilizers with Zero Speed function.
The superyacht consolidates the relationship between Codecasa Shipyards and architect Tommaso Spadolini. The interior and exterior spaces were designed to offer a balance between privacy and conviviality, with a layout spanning multiple decks connected by an elevator. The sleeping quarters include a master suite and five guest cabins, complemented by a functional crew layout with a captain's cabin and six double cabins. The consultancy firms Yanova and Fraser Yachts actively collaborated on the project, overseeing the various construction phases up to today's launch.
