Ascom presents column cranes between 10 and 100 tons
Custom solutions for nautical applications, safe handling, and zero-emission electric operation. Completing the range are new forklifts to optimize floor space and rack management.

Amsterdam (Netherlands) – The Italian company Ascom is presenting its marine pillar cranes with load capacities ranging from 10 to 100 tons. At the Metstrade trade fair in Amsterdam, Andrea Cuoghi (pictured left with Denis Talignani of Abi Trailers), the company's managing director, explained to SUPER YACHT 24 that "Depending on the model and specific requirements, the crane can have an external arm that slides longitudinally, while each of the four hoists moves, thus acting as a travel lift. This is a very practical solution for handling sailboats with masts, which are always a problem. Furthermore, thanks to the radio control, the operator does not have to remain under the load. The four hoists are electric: the machine is zero-emission and silent so as not to disturb people on other boats at the dock." Among the company's flagship products are also forklifts. Andrea Cuoghi explains, "It's a machine with a mast that can descend 4-5 meters and reach up to 12 meters in height, allowing it to handle racks of up to 3-4 levels, with heavier boats at the bottom and lighter ones, such as tenders and small dinghies, at the top. It's an ideal solution, especially for small shipyards with limited space in the water or for those who simply can't build a structure in the water to house the travel lift. This solution creates space on land for the racks, freeing up space in the sea. They're very popular in the United States and are now starting to become popular in Italy as well. The customer books the launching of the boat and finds it ready when it arrives."
