Santella (Bluegame): “The BGX83 is a natural evolution of the range and a model that completes the project.”
The new flagship of the range was presented at the Düsseldorf boat show: more volume thanks to the maximum beam of 6,30 metres, three IPS1200 engines for a maximum speed of 30 knots and Sleipner stabilising fins.

Düsseldorf (Germany) – At Boot Düsseldorf, Bluegame presented the world premiere of the BGX83, the fleet's new flagship. This project stems from the synergy between Luca Santella for the concept, Zuccon International Project for the exterior design, and Piero Lissoni, who oversaw the interiors of this first unit (the hull shapes are by Louis Codega). The yacht has an overall length of 25,60 meters, while its certified length is 23,98 meters. The shipyard's CEO, Carla Demaria, said: “The BGX83 is the clearest statement of who we are today. The very first units have already been sold before the launch to loyal owners who are embarking on their third journey with our brand. This level of trust and loyalty represents our greatest success and confirms that the BGX83 is not just a new flagship, but a true milestone for Bluegame.”
The yacht embodies the pinnacle of owner-centric design, combining generous volumes with uncompromising functionality. The architecture features a significant increase in space and volume compared to previous models, particularly aft, where the beach area evolves into an even larger open-air lounge. In addition to the hydraulic up-and-down platform, the yacht now features a lateral opening on the starboard side, extending the overall beam and allowing for direct contact with the sea.
At the SUPERYACHT 24 press conference, we met Luca Santella, founder and head of product development, who explained: “After the launch of the Bgx70, we knew a more compact model would also be available, but we were clear that the 83 would represent the natural and most complete conclusion to the Bgx range. The most stimulating phase began with the development of the project, when we introduced a series of substantial upgrades compared to the 70, capable of coherently justifying the move to a larger size: the flybridge with steering console and sundeck, the fourth cabin, an adequately sized crew area and the starboard side opening in the cockpit. The choice of three engines also forced us to increase the beam to 6,30 meters and, in fact, was the turning point of the project: it “gilded” everything, because the volumes literally exploded. The saloon, the master cabin, the VIP cabins and the bow itself, which houses a large living area, benefited from this. This intervention allowed us to definitively close the 83 range. everything that was still partly 'open' on the BGX70. It was its natural evolution within the range and, in my opinion, the right boat to complete the journey of the brand and the BGX project. Thanks to the three Volvo Penta IPS1200 engines, performance also remains in line with the rest of the range: it reaches 30 knots and consistently maintains the performance level of the other boats, while with greater length, width, and weight it gives an almost ship-like feel. For the first time, we have also adopted stabilizing fins, while on the other models we use a gyroscope. The choice fell on Sleipner based on positive feedback from within the group: the larger Sanlorenzo SXs have achieved excellent results. For the anchoring system, we worked with Maxwell. It's an area on which I don't compromise: I want ergonomic, well-designed, and functional solutions. It also comes from personal experience: I took the first boats out on my own and didn't want to ruin my back and hands working with impractical systems. That's why all our Boats from 42 to 84 feet adopt the same bow layout: generous cleats and a dedicated winch for warping, so there's no need to go down into the anchor locker. This is also because we know that clutches, if not used daily, tend to never work as they should. For me, functionality is fundamental when it comes to anchoring and mooring, and consequently, the brands involved must also be up to par.
Regarding the interiors, the aft saloon, positioned at water level, connects to the beach area and is a natural private extension of the 6,3-meter full-beam owner's suite. Two or three VIP cabins are located on the same deck, depending on the chosen layout. On the main deck, Bluegame has adopted an asymmetrical solution with a single staircase positioned on the starboard side, a choice that frees up space for a wet bar and a customizable outdoor galley. Inside, the living area stands out for its 360° glass surfaces and two facing sofas.
