Acala, a 43,10-meter explorer yacht built by Cantiere delle Marche, has recently been sold with an asking price of nearly €30 million. The transaction, which involved Moravia Yachting, Cecil Wright, and Zarpo Yachts, involves the first unit in the "Deep Blue 141" series, a project that combines gigayacht specifications with a platform under 500 GT.

Developed with naval architecture by Hydro Tec and Axis Group Yacht Design (Horacio Bozzo), the yacht was built in 2022 with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. The project, conceived for an owner with a high-profile sailing background, led to radical engineering choices aimed at long-range navigation.

With a beam of 8,60 meters and a draft of 2,50 meters, Acala is powered by two 746 kW Caterpillar C32 Acert engines with a “Heavy Duty” rating, a configuration designed for reliability, which allows for the storage of 62.400 liters of diesel and guarantees a transoceanic range of more than 5.000 miles at the economical speed of 10 knots.

The vessel's technical distinction lies in its distribution of weight and volume. The interior layout, designed by Simon Hamui, defies convention by placing four guest cabins—the master stateroom and three VIP suites—on the main deck. This solution frees up valuable space on the lower deck to optimize the engine room, technical areas, and crew quarters, ensuring onboard logistics capable of sustaining long stays at sea without stopovers.

The functional equipment reflects the vessel's "explorer" nature: the beach club integrates a professional dive center with a Nitrox compressor, while a dumbwaiter system connects all decks to maximize service efficiency. The redundancy of the systems and the electrical generator, consisting of two 80 kW Kohler units plus a 55 kW auxiliary unit, confirm Acala's vocation as "the smallest 80-meter ever built." a definition, given at the time of its presentation by the construction site, which underlines the density of engineering content enclosed in 43 meters of length.
