The Del Vecchio family has purchased the 72m Admiral Armani gigayacht

According to the investigative platform dedicated to the world of luxury Glitz, the Del Vecchio family has purchased the gigayacht Admiral Armani 72m Launched this year by The Italian Sea Group and presented at the Monaco Yacht Show last September (with expert Rosario Fortuna at the helm), the yacht is among the last creations personally overseen by the recently deceased designer. The Del Vecchio family holds a significant stake in the eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica—distributor of Armani-branded glasses, among others—and, Glitz notes, was designated as one of Armani's potential future shareholders in the designer's will.

The Armani 72m is the first of two yachts designed by Giorgio Armani for this series. It features a steel displacement hull, exterior design by Armani-Casa and Admiral, interior design by Armani-Casa, and naval architecture by Admiral. Described by the Admiral shipyard as "a yacht with large, sharp, geometric volumes, perfectly balanced with softer, curved forms, for a majestic and dynamic overall effect," it features elegantly minimalist furnishings and extensive use of glass, particularly in the large windows that help emphasize the seamless flow of its interior and exterior spaces.

The 2.000 GT ice-class yacht, classified for navigation in polar waters and with a range of over 6.000 nautical miles, features six en-suite guest cabins on the main deck and a 180-square-meter owner's deck. The 72-meter vessel can accommodate up to 14 guests in its cabins and a crew of 20. Amenities on board the superyacht include a spacious beach club, a swimming pool aft of the main deck, a private spa, and a helipad.
