From 26 to 27 meters: Numarine updates the XP series with a more versatile explorer
Presented at Cannes, the Numarine 27XP offers more space, range, and versatility than its predecessor. The shipyard is Turkish, but the naval architecture is Italian, by Umberto Tagliavini.
Cannes (France) – The Turkish shipyard Numarine has chosen the Cannes Yachting Festival, the first of the season, to unveil its new 27XP, an explorer yacht that replaces the popular 26XP, one of the shipyard's most successful models, with 30 units built and operating worldwide. With an additional meter in length and a significant increase in interior volume, the new project represents a step forward in both comfort and technical solutions, while remaining faithful to the XP philosophy.
The style remains the bold and muscular one typical of the range, designed by Can Yalman, who also designed the interiors. The naval architecture is by Umberto Tagliavini, who has ensured the same seaworthy robustness appreciated on the 26XP. But the new model introduces revamped proportions and more flexible spaces, allowing for a qualitative leap in livability.
“Longer, more spacious, and more versatile than its predecessor,” explains Ömer Malaz, founder and president of Numarine, “it introduces new levels of comfort, light, and openness, without sacrificing the explorer spirit that defines our XP series. It sets a new standard of elegance and capability in its class.”
Compared to the 26XP, the new 27XP offers a larger and more modular layout, with two configurations: five-cabin, which introduces a VIP stateroom on the main deck, three VIP suites overall, a full-beam master stateroom with bathroom and walk-in closet, and an additional guest stateroom; and four-cabin, which allows the wheelhouse to be positioned on the main deck, freeing up the flybridge for even more convivial spaces.
Both versions accommodate 8 to 10 guests, while the crew remains at 4. A distinguishing feature compared to the 26XP is the presence of larger windows, which amplify natural light throughout the interior and enhance the connection with the sea. Another key difference is the galley: the new model adopts an open kitchen solution, creating a social and modern atmosphere, more akin to that of large yachts, while the 26XP's spaces were more traditional and compartmentalized.
The flybridge has been increased in length and width compared to the 26XP, offering more space for dining, relaxation, and entertainment. A raised lounge has been introduced at the bow, a solution not present on the previous model, which allows for broader panoramic views of the horizon. Among the options, the new model also offers an enclosed glass flydeck with an integrated helm station, designed for cruising in colder or more changeable climates: a plus not available on the 26XP.
The new explorer maintains the same philosophy of efficiency. Propulsion is provided by two 560 hp Man engines, which guarantee a top speed of 13,5 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. Maximum range is 2.200 nautical miles at 8 knots, a value in line with the project's ocean-going ambitions.
