Yacht Dolce Vento sank shortly after launch in Türkiye (VIDEO)
The 24-meter yacht sank in Ereğli just minutes after launching. The owner and crew were rescued. Investigations into the cause of the stability collapse are underway.

The launch of the Dolce Vento, a 24-meter motor yacht built by Medyılmaz Shipyard for the Turkish Feyz Group, turned into a serious accident. The vessel, valued at around 40 million Turkish lira (approximately €1,1 million), sank just a quarter of an hour after launching in the port of Ereğli on the Black Sea coast.
The incident occurred around 14:30 PM local time, approximately 200 meters from the shore. After the first few minutes of floating, the yacht began to list sharply on its side. Surveillance footage clearly shows the loss of stability and the subsequent capsizing. Within minutes, the hull sank to a depth of 7 meters.
There were four people on board: the owner, the captain, and two crew members. All managed to jump into the water and swim to shore without injury. The alarm was raised by shipyard personnel, prompting the immediate intervention of the Coast Guard and medical teams, although there were no injuries.
Local authorities have cordoned off the area with floating booms and launched a technical investigation to determine the cause of the accident. In addition to analyzing the damage to the wreck, the investigations are focusing on the accuracy of the stability calculations and the possible presence of structural defects. The possibility of an engineering error, related to the design modeling or the weight distribution on board, is among those being considered.
The Dolce Vento was laid down approximately two and a half years ago at the Medyılmaz Shipyard and represented one of the most important projects for the construction group.
