Casadei (Beneteau Group Motor Yachting Division): "A luxury multihull is not a sail without a mast" (VIDEO)
Interview with the general manager of the French group, who discusses the plans for Prestige and the M range of motor catamarans built in Monfalcone.

Monfalcone (Gorizia) – Prestige looks to the future with a focus on luxury motor multihulls. "It's not a mastless sailing catamaran," explains Michelangelo Casadei, "but a product designed for the motor yachting customer." Heading the Beneteau Group's Motor Yachting Division business unit, Casadei has brought together all of the group's inboard brands and ranges under a single structure: Prestige, Gran Turismo, Trawler, Delphia, and X Crossover.
The Monfalcone shipyard is the production hub for the largest vessels, currently focused on premium models. This is where the M8 and M7 are built, catamarans that offer unprecedented space and livability: full-beam master cabins between the two hulls, spacious outdoor spaces such as terraces, and reduced fuel consumption thanks to cruising speeds of 16-18 knots.
"The motor multihull market," explains Casadei, "is one of the few growing markets, and Prestige is targeting the high-end segment, far removed from sailing-derived models. The M8, nine units already sold, is the leader; the M7 represents its evolution, with optimized space and even more refined finishes. The M48 completes the range, and for monohulls, the Fly line under 45 feet, unique in the segment."
The strategy is clear: combine the industrialization and efficiency of the Beneteau Group with the expertise and customization capabilities of the Italian shipbuilding tradition, to offer value and competitiveness without pushing prices beyond their limits. Over 200 people work in Monfalcone, 80% of whom are in-house workers, in a district where high-end yachting is an integral part of the manufacturing culture.
