Tankoa Yachts takes over Otam's concession in Genoa Sestri Ponente
The local port authority's management committee approved the operation because it would safeguard the jobs of 18 employees.

The Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority announced that, during the first Management Committee meeting under the chairmanship of Matteo Paroli, the new members expressed "a unanimous favorable opinion regarding the procedure aimed at safeguarding the jobs of 18 Otam Srl employees through the subrogation of the concession by the operator Tankoa Yachts SPA, as part of the broader territorial and organizational reorganization of the shipbuilding industry, which will be subject to public tender." According to SUPER YACHT 24, the request for subrogation of the concession with the acquisition of personnel has currently been accepted; in the near future, this could evolve into a business unit acquisition.
In any case, the note from the Genoa Port Authority reveals that Otam will raise the white flag and that its concession (along with 18 employees) will be passed to Tankoa Yachts, which has long been hungry for space, not just in Sestri Ponente.
SUPER YACHT 24 had already given notice last January Rumors have it that the Otam Yachts shipyard has ceded its ownership to the neighboring shipyard, run by Vincenzo Poerio. This acquisition includes the availability of two covered warehouses, a service yard, a mechanical workshop, a carpentry shop, and a 180-ton travel lift. Otam has under concession nearly 4.800 square meters of covered space, 3.300 square meters of open space, and a body of water of just under 10.000 square meters.
