Control failure, collision attempted on the dock to avoid further damage (VIDEO)
Accident in the port of Marina del Rey, California, where a yacht of about 20 meters ended up against the dock of the port after, during the docking phase, it no longer responded to the controls due to a fault

A collision occurred in Marina del Rey, California, a few miles from Los Angeles. A yacht approximately 20 meters long crashed into the dock while docking. The maneuver was deliberately initiated by the captain after he noticed a control failure that prevented him from putting the vessel into reverse gear and thus counteracting its momentum.
No one was injured on board the vessel, but the incident made headlines online due to the captain's courageous decision. Noticing the damage on the bridge, the man at the helm voluntarily decided to steer the yacht into the dock to stop it and prevent it from hitting other boats.
The video of the impact, filmed by an eyewitness, shows the moment of the crash and the shocked cries of those witnessing the scene, which occurred in a particularly crowded area on summer weekends. Although at first glance it might seem like a clumsy maneuver, the captain's prompt action prevented further damage and the involvement of other vessels in the port.
