Cervia-based Gruppo Med enters the world of luxury yachting with Tykun, a brand dedicated to building high-performance chase boats. Specializing in military vessels for specific operational needs, the group brings its thirty-year expertise to the luxury tender segment. Designed in collaboration with architect Tommaso Spadolini, the range includes three models measuring 8,5, 10,5, and 12,5 meters, with hulls constructed from high-strength aluminum and offering a high degree of customization. Unlike fiberglass, aluminum does not require molds, allowing for structural modifications both during production and in subsequent years. This adaptability allows owners to tailor each component to their needs and preferences, creating ever-evolving vessels.

"We're confident owners will appreciate the design freedom and the ability to configure the boat to suit their style," explains Spadolini. "The Tykun fleet is designed to be easy to handle and to offer a safe and enjoyable sailing experience in all sea conditions." The three models deliver speeds of over 55 knots and excellent seakeeping, ensured both by naval architecture and the experience of Med Defense, a specialized division of the group that has been supplying vehicles to law enforcement and public safety in Europe for years. Thanks to its solid expertise, which includes the design of ergonomic, NATO-certified and CE-approved units, Med Defense brings technical innovation and reliability to the luxury tender segment as well.

"Thanks to thirty years of experience building vessels for the defense sector, we proudly launch Tykun to the market. Designed with the care and quality of a superyacht but built to rigorous military standards, these boats combine the strength, robustness, and seaworthiness typical of a defense vessel with the elegance and comfort of a superyacht tender," said Marco Galimberti, CEO of Gruppo Med.

Med Group currently employs 60 specialized technicians at its Cervia production site, and the shipyard plans to relocate to larger facilities by 2026, along with a workforce expansion plan. The official debut of the 10,5-meter model is scheduled for the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show, while the first 12,5-meter model, already under construction, will be launched in 2026.
