Labrolines launched a 67-meter vessel in Marina di Carrara
The expertise of the shipping agency and the synergy with the port terminal are fundamental in the movement of the giants of the sea

The recent launch of a massive 67-meter vessel in the port of Marina di Carrara has highlighted the importance of specialized logistics in the world of superyachts. The complex launching operations were handled entirely by Labrolines, a shipping agency based in Livorno, in collaboration with the FHP Terminal. Thanks to careful planning and rigorous commitment, the vessel was able to enter the water just six hours after entering the port.
The event highlights the growing role of companies like Labrolines in supporting the intense activity of Italian shipyards, as confirmed by CEO Giancarlo Fruzzetti, specifying that the company works with most of the major shipyards in the sector and that this type of activity has naturally increased in recent years given the period of strong growth the nautical industry is experiencing.
Labrolines specializes in organizing the complete services required for the movement of superyachts, from their construction phase to final outfitting, including both land transport of the large hulls and the delicate launching operations and subsequent sea transport to the shipyards' designated locations. "We organize everything necessary for the launching, from collection at the construction site to sea transport to the final destination," explained Fruzzetti. The company uses the equipment and resources of the port terminals it collaborates with, such as the FHP Terminal in Marina di Carrara.
A significant aspect of Labrolines' business is the growing importance of the pleasure boating sector, which now accounts for approximately 40% of the shipping agency's total workload, founded in 1984. This percentage has increased significantly over the last two or three years, reflecting the dynamism of the superyacht sector and the increased demand for specialized services.
However, business growth brings significant challenges: in addition to the well-known lack of adequate space for building, handling, and storing superyachts, there are the difficulties associated with transfers. Transfer operations by sea and land, often between different ports (such as from Marina di Carrara to Viareggio or Livorno for final outfitting), require complex management. Critical issues include road conditions, which often require nighttime transfers and the obtaining of specific permits, the limited availability of docks in commercial ports, and, in particular contexts like Viareggio, seabed issues, which require operations in calm sea conditions due to silting for the transit of large vessels.
Despite these bureaucratic and logistical challenges, Labrolines actively collaborates with the relevant authorities to find solutions and maintain operational efficiency. It continues to see growth opportunities for its sector, focusing on the quality of its service to consolidate its position in an ever-evolving market.
