Fortitude 1, the new Benetti Class 44, makes its sea debut in Viareggio (VIDEO)

Viareggio – Today, Fortitude 1, a Benetti Class 44 series yacht, was launched with a spectacular slide in the waters of Viareggio. It was a thrilling moment attended by the English owners, their friends, local authorities, and the entire Benetti team that contributed to the creation of this superyacht.
Built of fiberglass, Fortitude 1 is 44 meters long, almost 9 meters wide, and has a capacity of 470 GT. Her construction was supervised from the very beginning, even before the contract was signed, by Burgess. They requested an extremely detailed review of the specifications, introducing targeted measures to optimize the vessel not only for the owner's private use, but also for future charter activities, which will be managed by Burgess itself.
As project manager Federica Brascugli explained, Fortitude 1's interiors feature five cabins and a spacious main salon, enhanced by an elegant bar on the upper deck. The furnishings, personally selected by the owner, echo the details and atmosphere of the family's previous Benetti superyacht. The result is an extremely bright space, dominated by various shades of beige and white, with delicate touches of blue. Marble covers the entire main deck, contributing to a radiant, almost dazzling effect thanks to its luminosity.
"This superyacht was designed for those with a solid background in yachting," explained designer Giorgio Cassetta, who oversaw every aspect of Fortitude 1. "She is a marvel of reliability and functionality, with an impeccable interior layout and an optimal distribution of spaces and passageways. The owners wanted to further amplify the natural light in her already luminous interiors, choosing white marble almost everywhere. This added another dimension to the quest for a 'blinding light' that makes Fortitude 1 a unique project among the group of vessels we are building, her 'close sisters'."
