Sialia Yachts, a Polish shipyard specializing in electric yachts between 13 and 30 meters, announces that it has appointed Marco Plicchi as its new COO, with the aim of accelerating global growth and innovation strategy in the electric yacht sector.

With over 25 years of management experience in the marine industry, Plicchi will oversee Sialia's production processes and lead the development of new product lines, including the brand's latest launch, the fully electric Sialia 45, according to a statement from the shipyard. His responsibilities will include improving operational efficiency, expanding the model range, and maintaining the highest product quality standards, as the company continues its commitment to eco-sustainable boating.

A naval architect and naval engineer by training, Plicchi has held senior positions at several major superyacht builders, with expertise ranging from engineering to new product development, from ERP system implementation to sea trials and after-sales service. He will join the management team of Sialia Yachts and its parent company, Silent Straits Group.

Sialia is working on completing the new Sialia 45, scheduled for completion next June, ahead of its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The new model is expected to reach a top speed of 43 knots and boast the longest range in its class.

Siala Yachts was founded in 2017 and has offices in Warsaw and Cyprus, with teams in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and the United States. The company notes that it has integrated Ampros' advanced electric propulsion technology into its growing fleet, which currently includes the Sialia 45, 57, 59, and 80 Explorer models. "Plicchi's appointment reflects the brand's continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of zero-emission boating," concludes a statement from Siala Yachts.
