Lusben celebrates the launch of Alfa, a 70-meter Benetti yacht that has undergone a complete refit.
The project involved painting, plant development and the complete reinterpretation of spaces and furnishings, giving the superyacht, built in 2020, a contemporary identity.

Lusben, the Refit Division of the Azimut|Benetti Group, has announced the launch celebration of Alfa, a 70-meter full-custom superyacht built by Benetti in 2020 and “recognized since its inception for the sculptural elegance of its lines, perfect proportions, and strong design identity.”
Yacht Alfa chose Lusben for a complete refit: coordinated by Ocean Independence as broker and with interiors by Mark Berryman Design, the project involved all the main areas of the refit: from painting to system development, up to the complete reinterpretation of spaces and furnishings, giving Alfa a contemporary identity.
Alfa, Lusben explains in a statement, stands out for its balanced proportions, clean lines, and assertive character. Five decks, generous volumes, and a design that emphasizes harmony between interior and exterior make this yacht an iconic presence in the custom yachting scene. The shipyard's refit represented not only a significant maintenance and technological upgrade, but also "a refined, tailored effort that enhanced the owner's vision with consistency and aesthetic flair."
"The work on m/y Alfa is a source of great satisfaction for us, not only for the project's prestige, but also because it perfectly embodies the 'life cycle' philosophy recently announced by the Azimut Benetti Group. Accompanying a Benetti yacht throughout its entire life, from launch to refit, is the most concrete expression of the synergy between the Group's brands and our ability to offer continuity, quality, and value over time," commented Gianni Paladino, Sales Director of Lusben.
The project primarily focused on the structural and aesthetic aspects, with the complete repainting of the hull and owner's deck, accompanied by wrapping and multi-layered protection. "At the same time, Lusben managed the complex technical package associated with the five-year survey, which included in-depth overhauls of the stabilizers, shaft lines, valves, engines, inverters, and generators, as well as electrical testing and general system inspections," adds Alessio Centelli, Area Manager for Lusben Livorno. "A project of this magnitude requires precise technical direction and extremely meticulous day-to-day management: for this, I would like to thank Simone Rotili, Project Manager at Lusben, for the professionalism and dedication with which he oversaw every phase of the project."
Significant mechanical modifications were also made: the bow crane was updated with new software for independent boom management, the bollards were redesigned and lengthened, while the side ladder, gangway, and swim ladder were dismantled and completely overhauled. At the stern, the swimming platform was optimized with new fittings and retractable bollards, designed to improve mooring and tender handling. New illuminated signage, including the installation of a backlit ship's name, completed the upgrade.
The most visible heart of the refit – the statement continues – is undoubtedly the interiors, meticulously crafted by the English studio Mark Berryman Design. The goal was to update and enrich the onboard experience while preserving the understated and refined design language that has always characterized the yacht.
The Main Deck has undergone a thorough redesign: new custom sofas, marble-topped tables, a fire pit, custom chaise lounges, and ottomans—some with playful details, such as a built-in chessboard. The walls have been redesigned, the doors replaced, and even the master stateroom has benefited from meticulous work on the headboard, upholstery, and furniture.
Particular attention was paid to the hospitality area: four new custom bars were created, including one with a teppanyaki grill on the skydeck, and a refined curved servery. The kitchen was completely reconfigured, with a new, more functional layout and updated systems. Furthermore, along the left corridor, a fully-fledged wine cellar with large-capacity bottle storage was created, transforming a passageway into a vibrant hub of personality.
"Today is a truly special occasion—not only because we are delivering a magnificent yacht with an elegant new interior, but also because this is the moment to recognize the commitment of many people over the months, their dedication and precision, and the excellent craftsmanship of Lusben," added Anton Foord, sales broker for Ocean Independence. "A special thank you goes to the highly skilled professionals who brought this project to life: thank you for your reliability, professionalism, and the pride you put in your work. We wish Alfa and her owner many memorable moments and cruises," Lusben concludes.
