US-EU tariffs: The nautical industry calls for a negotiated solution.
The European Boating Industry is ready to work together to avoid the negative impact of new tariffs and highlights the risks for growth and jobs.

Following the US announcement of “reciprocal duties ” of 20% on EU imports, the European Boating Industry (EBI), the association that represents and promotes the recreational boating industry in Europe, and which counts Confindustria Nautica among its founders, promptly expressed its opposition on its website, warning of the dangers of the initiative for businesses and the value chain on both sides of the Atlantic.
The nautical industry, the association explains, is globally integrated, with North America and Europe being its largest markets. Tariffs disrupt trade, hinder economic growth, and threaten jobs, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses that form the backbone of the nautical industry.
We welcome the EU's goal of reaching a negotiated solution with the US, and the EBI stands ready to contribute proposals to improve the mutual success of the recreational boating sector. Permanently removing tariffs would support economic growth, jobs, and investment on both sides of the Atlantic.
The European Boating Industry states that it is in constant dialogue with EU institutions and highlights that the recreational boating sector, as far as "Made in Europe" is concerned, is made up of over 32.000 companies and directly employs more than 280.000 people. Over 96% of companies in the sector, the association emphasizes, are small and medium-sized enterprises.
