Training and networking at the 10th edition of Floating Life's Captains' Meeting in Florence
The event also represented an opportunity for participants to discuss concrete issues related to life on board by sharing experiences and solutions.

Florence hosted the tenth edition of Floating Life's Captains' Meeting, an annual event organized by the Swiss yacht management company. From March 5th to 7th, the Anglo American Hilton Hotel welcomed 45 captains and 22 chief stewardesses from around the world for a program focused on training and networking.
A key element of the event was the ISM (International Safety Management) training course, led by Bureau Veritas experts, including Dario Coccoli, Stefano Zanus Michiei, and Luca Ghersi. The course, which required mandatory attendance and a final exam, provided participants with an update on onboard safety management and concluded with the awarding of ISM certification. Discussions provided an opportunity to share experiences and address issues related to safety at sea.
The event program also included opportunities for networking and socializing. A gala dinner at Palazzo Ximènes-Panciatichi provided an opportunity to interact with attendees. Furthermore, the statement continues, the new crew apparel collection was presented. Floating Life's Commercial Director, Filippo Rossi, then engaged guests with an original and engaging presentation focusing on the company's 2024 results.
For the chief stewardesses, a treasure hunt was organized through the streets of Florence, combining team building activities with the discovery of the city's artistic and cultural beauties.
Floating Life, which employs a team of 30 professionals, presented consistently growing business results and announced the addition of three new vessels over 35 meters in length to its charter fleet. The company is also working on the development of a 50-meter explorer yacht with an innovative propulsion system, about which it will provide further details in the coming months.
"We are thrilled with the success of this tenth edition of our Captains' Meeting," said Andrea Pezzini, director and co-founder of Floating Life. "The event reaffirmed our commitment to promoting ongoing training and dialogue among industry professionals, essential elements for ensuring excellent service to our clients. Our meetings are the ideal opportunity to discuss practical issues related to life on board, how to address and resolve them through the sharing of our experiences."
Barbara Tambani, CEO and co-founder of the company, added: “This year we wanted to present our uniforms through a journey of evocative images, true living paintings that celebrated the beauty and poetry of a wonderful historic Florentine palace.”
