Franchetti (Maxspar): "Our single-piece masts are lighter and more rigid."
Thanks to a 67-meter autoclave, the Genoese company is able to build single-piece carbon masts for yachts up to 170 feet in length.

Genoa - Founded in 1994 by Enrico Franchetti, Maxspar specializes in the design and construction of carbon fiber masts for all types of sailing vessels, from cruising to racing. Thanks to its advanced technology, a unique 67-meter autoclave, and male mold lamination, it can build even superyacht masts in a single piece. Its headquarters are located in Genoa, within the port, where it can utilize the length of the building constructed on Molo Giano, a strategic location that allows Maxspar to easily build, repair, and handle masts of any size. Thanks to its logistical position, Maxspar has also acquired significant expertise and experience in the superyacht refit sector.
"In my career, I've built over 5 masts," Enrico Franchetti told SUPER YACHT 24, "and today we create a product unlike any other in the world. Our autoclave is 67 meters long and can produce masts for yachts and superyachts up to 170 feet in length, while maintaining a single-piece profile. This construction technology guarantees excellent mechanical performance and greater reliability over time because it has no mechanical stress points like glued pieces. Furthermore, compared to two-piece masts, ours have 17% greater torsional rigidity."
The experienced Genoese entrepreneur adds that "Maxspar now not only builds masts but also rigging in pultruded carbon fiber: the lines that make up the shrouds are continuous, without interruptions or gluing, and the weight savings are up to 70%, while lasting longer than traditional rods. Furthermore, for over 15 years, we have been producing a boom for furling mainsails with a large storage capacity and a carbon mandrel with electric or hydraulic motorization. Shipowners seek out the brand, but our product is technologically advanced and innovative, not only because of the materials used but also because we are completely independent. We manufacture all the individual pieces, components, rigging, and accessories ourselves, and we are able to resolve any technical issue."
