The wreck of the yacht Atina was recovered in Olbia and sent to Livorno.
Sunk on August 10th in Olbia, it was refloated using the same pontoon used for the Costa Concordia. Environmental cleanup began immediately in the body of water where it sank.

The 47-meter superyacht Atina, which sank due to a fire three months ago off the Gulf of Olbia, off Saline beach, has been refloated.
To recover the yacht, which has been lying on its side at a depth of eight meters for months, the Olbia Port Authority began operations on November 2nd. These were followed by essential environmental cleanup of the body of water where the yacht was found.
At the time of the fire and the subsequent sinking of Atina – built in 2008 by the German shipyard Heesen, flying the Cook Islands flag and used by Turkish owner Serkan Borancili for a Mediterranean cruise – had only the crew aboard, while the guests were ashore. The nearby yachtsmen immediately assisted, and no one was injured.
The yacht sank in front of dozens of people who filmed the event. Coast Guard personnel worked to secure the area and prevent environmental damage.
The salvage operation—expensive and covered by insurance—technically involved an initial phase of "parbuckling" the yacht, which allowed it to return to its natural position while still remaining on the seabed. This phase was concluded on November 2nd. On Sunday, November 3rd, the yacht Atina was refloated and emptied of stagnant water. The contents of the crates were reportedly emptied, but it was not possible to hoist the wreck aboard the Conquest MB1 pontoon, the same vessel used to salvage the Costa Concordia, because the waterlogged vessel proved too heavy for the chains used. On the morning of Monday, November 4th, through delicate operations, the wreck was hoisted aboard the platform and then transferred to Livorno for disposal. The cleaning of the seabed with 3D scans was completed yesterday.
