The design of the new bridge for direct access to the sea from the Navicelli Canal is approaching.
The project has been funded by the Livorno Port Authority: it marks the first step in a project eagerly awaited by nautical companies operating in the area. Plans for the future Livorno marina are also planned.

It will therefore be a mobile bridge that in the near future will allow all the yachts and superyachts of the shipyards present on the Navicelli Canal (which flows into the Scolmatore canal), to exit directly and easily into the open sea.
This was reported by Port News, the press outlet of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority, which details in an article the allocation, within the Three-Year Plan of Works for next year, of a project "for the new mobile bridge over the Scolmatore in Calambrone (for a total of 400 thousand euros)" as well as funding "for the construction of the second lot of the navigable canal between Bellana and Darsena Nuova (for which 11,5 million euros have been allocated), a project that obviously has significant implications for the city community and for the completion of the project related to the Marina di Livorno."
The Three-Year Plan of Works, along with the 2025-2027 Budget Forecast, were approved yesterday by the institution's Management Committee.
This is therefore an important step that will lead to the reconstruction of the Scolmatore bridge, currently too low to allow the passage of even medium-sized vessels. This is one of the most eagerly awaited projects for the many shipyards operating on the Navicelli Canal, and it will further boost the sector in this area.
