A new battle awaits for docking at Civitavecchia's tourist port.
Roma Marina Yachting has submitted an application for a concession in competition with that of the Historic Port of Civitavecchia.

A (new) battle is looming at the tourist port of the historic port of Civitavecchia.
After he had obtained in August 2023 the cancellation of the concession that the Port System Authority of the Lazio port issued in 2015 to Roma Marina YachtingAt the end of 2023, Porto Storico Civitavecchia Srl submitted and completed a thirty-year concession application for "the occupation of a state-owned maritime area of 72.138,00 m² – of which 13.419,00 m² of open space, 2.064,00 m² of structures and piers and 56.655,00 m² of water surface – located within the Historic Port of Civitavecchia, for the purpose of building and managing a tourist marina".
The outcome of the dispute, as is known, was criticized by the Municipality and the Port System Authority of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea and, naturally, by Roma Marina Yachting itself, which has now followed through on its intention to fight to maintain its position, which it expressed shortly after the ruling.
The company led by Edgardo Azzopardi, in fact, has now submitted a competing application to that of Porto Storico Srl, to occupy for 40 years "a state-owned maritime area of approximately 107.000 m² – including 22.160,00 m² of open space, 3.2023,18 m² of buildings and piers, and _81.750 m² of water – located within the Historic Port of Civitavecchia, for the purpose of building and managing a tourist marina."
