Saim presents the new Zipwake trim tabs with rounded blades
A shape that better follows the hull shape in order to offer more precise control of the trim resulting in higher performance, fuel economy, improved comfort and safety.

Distributed in Italy by Saim Marine, the Swedish company Zipwake has unveiled the new IT400-E Round R1000 interceptor model, featuring round blades suitable for any stern and hull shape. The distance between the trim tab and the lower edge of the hull is a key aspect of the system's performance, as it improves the hydrodynamic flow around the interceptor and increases lift. A rounded blade shape, which follows the hull shape, results in more precise trim control. Each hull has its own curvature, which depends on the type of project and the purpose for which it was built.
The blades are powered by an integrated 12-24 volt water-cooled servomotor, whose initial calibration is automatically managed by the electronic control unit. The Zipwake system allows for quicker intervention on any forces acting on the hull to maintain the desired trim, resulting in higher performance, fuel economy, improved comfort, and safety.
With the addition of the IT400-E Round R1000 blades, Zipwake completes its range of interceptors with straight, tunnel, V-profile, and chine blades. This brings the company's offering to 25 configurations (50 units sold in just 10 years) and meets the needs of any vessel and hull shape. The new blade type can be used in combination with any Zipwake interceptor model.
Instead of using traditional trim tabs, Zipwake uses electrically activated blades that protrude downward, parallel to the hull's transom. Installation is facilitated by a mounting plate that integrates the servo motor and blades; the ability to automatically select a periodic cleaning cycle prevents fouling inside the interceptor.
