Ab Yachts launches the new 40-meter Ab130
The new sports yacht, featuring, among other things, an unusual expandable beach area, is already in the final testing phase
AB Yachts has announced the launch of the brand-new AB130 superyacht, which it describes as “the queen of the range, with sporty and sensual lines; a 40-meter vessel that soars above the water at over 40 knots and offers innovative volumes and functional spaces, including a stunning 'expandable' aft area.” The yacht is already undergoing final testing at the AB Yachts dock in Viareggio.
The main feature of the new AB130, explains the shipyard, is its beach area, "unusual for a vessel with such a sporty vocation: its platform amplifies its size thanks to two stern wings that unfold over the water, creating a large terrace overlooking the sea." This area, as the shipyard explains in a statement, integrates seamlessly with the other social living areas on board, the aft cockpit and the main salon—whose fully retractable sliding doors connect the interior and exterior—creating a single, connected environment, a multifunctional space of over 100 square meters, with a sea-view pool that can be explored on demand.
The yacht boasts ample storage capacity, with a "float-in" aft garage and a forward garage, allowing guests to enjoy themselves quickly and easily, without compromising the enjoyment of the beach area. The toys include two three-seater jet skis, a Seabob, an electric foil, a SUP, a paddle board, bicycles, and various inflatables, all designed for selective use, plus a 4.60-meter tender. "This unique capacity for its category and performance, along with the recognized and distinctive practicality that AB Yachts is incorporating into its new product range," the statement states.
The flybridge, another distinctive feature of the Ab130, features a large open-air view of the sea, which can be customized to maximize the concept of conviviality and well-being.
Innovative materials and cutting-edge construction techniques combined with waterjet propulsion—which AB Yachts has pioneered since 1992—ensure the AB130 achieves the following performance levels in terms of navigation efficiency and reduced fuel consumption and emissions: "more than 40 knots, in perfect trim, maximum comfort and a total absence of vibrations, a range of 450 miles at a cruising speed of around 35 knots, and a draft of just 1,30 meters, allowing it to truly explore any destination, even reaching remote and hidden areas or those inaccessible to most due to shallow waters, typical of the Caribbean, Miami, and the Bahamas. Added to this is the stability provided by the latest-generation Seakeeper SK26 stabilizers."
The interiors feature large, floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the surrounding spaces with natural light and offer 360° views of the sea, creating an uninterrupted connection with the exterior. The salon alone boasts over 50 square meters of glass. As with all models in the Ab Yachts range, the shipyard continues, the layout and decor were customized based on the owners' needs, who, being experienced, had a clear idea of what they wanted on board.
