Assomarinas disagrees with Altagamma on possible tourism programming

The reference is to a statement reported in the press by Vice President Vitelli who proposes a model like the Croatian one

Roberto Perocchio, president of Assomarinas – the Italian tourist ports association belonging to Federturismo Confindustria and Confindustria Nautica – sends the following statement to the press following the recent declarations of the vice-president of Altagamma for the nautical sector, Giovanna Vitelli, who considers the Croatian model of the Aci marinas a reference example for tourist port planning (la Vitelli's statement was reported yesterday by the newspaper Trend, and suggests assimilate, in VAT rates, nautical rentals and charters should be brought into line with the hotel and tourism sector; the procedures and regulations for the Italian flag should be aligned with those of other international registries, in order to increase its attractiveness; bureaucratic procedures relating, for example, to checks on recreational boaters or enrollment for pleasure craft should be simplified; and finally, the Committee emphasizes the importance of promotion, citing neighboring countries such as Croatia and the ACI Marina company as virtuous examples.).

"The Croatian model represents a state planning model," Perocchio emphasizes, "dating back to the communist era and now incompatible with the Italian free-market tourism system. Furthermore, the coastal planning of nautical infrastructure is entrusted to the Regions, which have already developed or are completing the relevant planning for tens of thousands of berths."

"There is no shortage of private investors for the redevelopment and development of tourist ports, which should be built where they are actually needed," concludes Perocchio. "This is demonstrated by the numerous projects underway, supported by investors such as the international retail chains D-Marin and IGY, as well as several Italian groups," stated President Roberto Perocchio.
