Porto Mirabello

ITN Industrie Turistiche Nautiche spa – the concession holder for Porto Mirabello, a superyacht marina located in the Gulf of La Spezia – has joined the network of high-end marinas located in the Mediterranean basin and the Gulf region of D-Marin (a portfolio company of the global private equity fund CVC Capital Partners).

This strategic addition, D-Marin explains, reflects the company's ongoing investment in strengthening its portfolio, expanding its presence in Italy to six marinas in some of the country's most prestigious nautical destinations. Porto Mirabello joins the existing Italian marinas of Punta Faro, Varazze, Livorno, Aregai, and San Lorenzo.

Crédit Agricole Italia announced that it acted as Financial Advisor for M&A., assisting D-Marin's top management and M&A team throughout the transaction, from the origination of the investment opportunity to closing in just five months. The banking group, with its in-depth knowledge of the sector, identified Porto Mirabello as an ideal geographic location and premium positioning that perfectly complemented D-Marin's investment strategy.

According to Oliver Dörschuck, CEO of D-Marin, the La Spezia marina: "This is a significant addition to our portfolio. Its excellent facilities and strategic location enhance our offering in the Mediterranean, allowing us to offer unparalleled experiences in one of Italy's most beautiful coastal settings."

Established in 2010, Porto Mirabello is a marina capable of meeting the needs of the world's largest and most prestigious superyachts, up to 140 meters in length. It has 407 berths and offers luxury amenities such as a helipad, high-end dining options, and shopping boutiques.

The port, D-Marin continues, "offers breathtaking views of the surrounding coastal scenery and convenient access to the city's attractions. Its high-end facilities include a swimming pool, spa, gym, concierge services, and a shipyard equipped with a 160-ton travel lift for maintenance and repairs. The port has also been reaffirmed as the prestigious Blue Flag, awarded for water quality and sustainable practices."

D-Marin's acquisition of Porto Mirabello strengthens its presence in the Mediterranean, "enabling its customers to enjoy seamless cruising experiences. By offering complimentary berth days at various D-Marin locations, initiatives like the "Happy Berth Days" promotion encourage sailing enthusiasts to enjoy diverse and exceptional experiences at the marinas of their favorite destinations. The marina group plans to make a series of improvements to Porto Mirabello and adopt a customer-centric approach to offer premium service that enriches customers' cruising experiences."

D-Marin was advised on the transaction by Latham Watkins on legal matters and by PwC on financial and tax matters.

Supported by CVC Capital Partners, D-Marin was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Greece. Its network of marinas, including Porto Mirabello, comprises over 14.000 berths with dry dock facilities that can accommodate over 2.500 vessels.
