The shipyard specializing in catamarans is looking at larger sizes and will present its first 80-foot sailing yacht at the Cannes boat show.

Zenit is the name of the first Lagoon Seventy8 catamaran sold in Italy by Simone Morelli's NSS Yachting, a company based in Pontedera (Pisa) with several bases in the Mediterranean. The launch and delivery ceremony for what is currently the flagship of the French catamaran shipyard, a brand of the Beneteau group, was held at one of NSS's bases in Olbia, the Marina di Cala dei Sardi.

The Seventy8, like all the shipyard's other models, features interior design by Nauta Design, waterlines by Vplp, and exterior styling by Patrick Le Quément. Among the other features of this latest-generation motor catamaran, 23,80 meters long and 11 meters wide, with a flybridge, is its impressive 320 square meters of living space, comparable to a seaside villa. Another distinctive feature is its ability to exceed 20 knots and maintain a cruising speed of 12-14 knots.

The Seventy8 can be configured by the customer in various layouts, with a customizable number of cabins. Specifically, the port hull can be configured in various ways, while the starboard hull features two cabins, one aft and a large master cabin in the forward section with the option of a fold-down balcony: a new solution that allows it to be a private retreat with the luxury of close contact with the sea.

On the flying bridge of the Seventy8, a catamaran with an elegant and imposing line, the view is unobstructed and relaxation is guaranteed by sofas, armchairs, sundecks and, upon request, even a Jacuzzi.

"This year at Cannes, Lagoon will unveil the renderings of its first 80-footer. It will be an 80-foot sailing yacht that will replace the Seventy7," Simone Morelli announced to SUPER YACHT 24. "The Seventy8—which is the same boat in a motor version—will be replaced later by another model. Lagoon, which currently covers a range from 40 to 80 feet, is focusing on this new size range, given the increasingly prevalent use of catamarans in the Mediterranean, to tap into a clientele that would typically purchase a 40-meter vessel."

Nss Yachting, a boat sales company, is part of the Nss Group, founded and managed by Simone Morelli, which also includes Nss Charter and Marina Cala dei Sardi.

"If we've seen the rise of sailing catamarans in recent years," Morelli continues, "the sale of the Seventy8 signals the beginning of a market that offers a very attractive alternative to those seeking a beautiful, functional boat with plenty of space, but who don't want to purchase a yacht measuring 50 meters or more. Furthermore, with the Seventy8, we're expanding our offering to ultra-luxury charter clients. In fact, Zenit, purchased under the management program, will be available to the NSS First Class fleet, which already includes the Seventy7, Sixty5 620, and 55 models, after the vacation period agreed upon with the owner."
