Cantiere delle Marche has launched Alexa, a Darwin 86
The yacht is the twelfth built by the shipyard since 2010 for the Darwin range, which goes from 86 to 112 feet, and is the seventh in the 86-foot segment.

Cantiere delle Marche announces the launch of the seventh Darwin 86 since the shipyard began its operations in 2010. Alexa, this is the name of the latest Darwin launched, joins a total of twelve yachts delivered or about to be delivered belonging to this series, from 86 to 112 feet.
The Darwin 86 Alexa, explains the shipyard, “is a masterfully built yacht with Hydro Tec’s unmistakable Darwin aesthetic: she was designed to sail thousands of miles a year, and the quality of construction, materials, and technical equipment are essential to simplifying the yacht’s day-to-day management and maintenance.”
The interiors were designed by architect Luigi Floris/Floris Design, who has collaborated with the shipyard since its founding. “The owner's brief was to have a practical and functional vessel without sacrificing elegance and comfort,” said Pierluigi Floris. “The yacht can accommodate up to nine guests in four cabins on the lower deck, which also includes a spa with sauna, shower, and relaxation area. The spa is available to all guests but can be transformed into a private area connected to the owner's cabin via a sliding door. The interior atmosphere is understated and elegant, an elegance emphasized by a warm color palette that blends light and dark tones in a well-balanced ensemble.”
The yacht, CdM reports, is customized to the owner's specific requirements and designed for extended cruising at higher latitudes. Therefore, the hull structure and rudders are reinforced to safely navigate icy waters. Part of the superstructure is made of steel rather than aluminum. All floors are heated, and the cockpit can be closed to allow guests to enjoy the scenery even when the outside temperature is very low.
The social areas, both on the main and upper decks, feature custom-made furniture paired with pieces from renowned Italian manufacturers. The crew quarters are located forward on the main deck, next to the galley and a large crew mess, and are directly connected to the wheelhouse on the upper deck via a dedicated staircase.
The owner's requests included a fourth helm station on the sun deck and two additional refrigerators for storing waste during long voyages. The new Darwin 86 is powered by two 500 hp Man engines.
"All explorer yachts built by Cantiere delle Marche are internationally renowned for their quality. Among the features common to all ranges, regardless of model size, are robust steel hulls, excellent seakeeping, redundant technical equipment, spacious engine rooms, and generous guest accommodations. These features, combined with very modest fuel consumption and great range, define our philosophy of excellence," said Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of Cantiere delle Marche, who concluded: "We can confidently say that the Darwin Class has become a benchmark in the explorer yacht sector over the years."
