Fenucci (Yachting Expertise) discusses the sale of the 37-meter explorer yacht K584

The all-Italian story of the K584 yacht, now Alix and recently passed to a new owner, explained by the person who developed and coordinated the project

The 36,60-meter superyacht Explorer K584, now Alix, built by the CPN shipyard and delivered in 2020, was sold in recent days.

The yacht, entirely Made in Italy, which was resold for approximately 11,5 million euros four years after its delivery – as Gianluca Fenucci of Yachting Expertise, the company that developed and coordinated the project, explains to SUPER YACHT 24 – has many noteworthy features, among which is naturally that, despite the passage of time and two changes of ownership, it has retained approximately its original value.

“It's no coincidence that it has retained its value,” comments Fenucci. “When in 2018, our team conceived this project around an experienced owner friend with a background in sailing who wanted to go around the world by switching to motor power without sacrificing either the economy or the silence and comfort of a sailing boat, we probably created something unique: K584 was designed to cover 7.000 miles economically, to consume less than 70 liters per hour at cruising speed, and to cruise at 10,5-11 knots with zero noise, giving the same sensations as sailing.”

Gianluca Fenucci has 37 years of experience in the nautical industry and founded the Isa Yachts shipyard (later acquired by Palumbo Superyachts) together with engineer Antonio Longobardi, his current partner in Yachting Expertise. Together, they have gained significant experience in the sector: "For example, in terms of vibration and noise: we have built some of the quietest boats in existence today. Isa Yachts' Okto, which we built, developed, and engineered together, is one of these. We achieved its virtually zero noise levels thanks to the owner's team's commitment to experimenting and developing these skills during the construction phase. And we brought this experience to K584."

K584 was built by CPN, an Ancona-based shipyard led by Cristiana Belardinelli, a subcontractor of hulls, superstructures, and systems to all the major names in the Adriatic nautical industry. CPN decided to build the explorer entirely in-house and applied all its experience in carpentry to create a vessel that protected all its functions. The steel hull, for example, is not filled (unlike the superstructure) and is made of "sewn" steel parts, actually welded and filled together, to allow for easy repairs in the event of scratches or impacts by isolating and repairing only the affected area. Despite the construction period coinciding with the Covid pandemic, the vessel was delivered by CPN in just two years, precisely on the date agreed with the owner.

The explorer yacht, with exterior design by Studio Vallicelli and interiors by Pierluigi Floris Architetto, was presented by Fenucci at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, where it reached the finals of the Boat International Award in its category, also winning further recognition. K584 boasts other distinctive features besides its red K on the bow (in honor of the work of its first owner, a hood maker): a diving station, a very shallow draft for maximum beach access, unique mirrored windows that reflect the surrounding landscape, and a 6-meter Tindeman tender for all conditions.

"K584 was sold in 2022, practically at its original price, due to the owner's changing needs. Renaming the vessel Alix meant that the interior furnishings were slightly refined by the new owner, while retaining all of its original features. Today, with the new ownership, she further confirms her value," emphasizes Gianluca Fenucci, who concludes: "The boat is a wonderful story, born from a fantastic partnership between us at Yachting Expertise and the CPN shipyard, with whom we have always collaborated." And perhaps, we wonder, for all these reasons, the project could be relaunched in the near future?
