nuovo Distretto della Nautica a Pagliari – Fossamastra – La Spezia

In La Spezia, local institutions and stakeholders (the Municipality, the Port System Authority, Cna La Spezia, and the Levante Ligure Nautical Synergies Consortium) presented the operational urban planning project for the redevelopment of the "formerly Fusione Tritolo" property, where a new Nautical District will be built.

The project, overseen by the consortium, "represents," as stated in a statement, "a strategic axis for the recreational boating sector, capable of responding to one of the main and constantly growing driving sectors of the La Spezia economy. It aims to expand the offering of a Refit & Repair service with the goal of becoming a center of excellence for recreational boating for a vast area that includes La Spezia and the surrounding regions."

The Mayor of La Spezia, Pierluigi Peracchini, stated: "We are finally opening the doors to the Pagliari Nautical District, a logistics hub for recreational boating, capable of offering services and solutions to a constantly expanding sector in our city. The District will complete the Blue Mile, further strengthening La Spezia's position as the world's nautical capital. With our arrival, the project has finally seen the light of day after a complex bureaucratic process, recently resolved after a long process thanks to the administration's commitment and the synergy with the Port System Authority, CNA, and the Consorzio Sinergie Nautiche del Levante, whom I thank for their commitment and ongoing collaboration. The signing of the agreement for the use of the Levante areas, which took place in recent weeks, represents a long-awaited event for the city, and with it we confirm our desire to continue supporting a sector that is a driving force for the local economy and is constantly growing."

After recently signing a planning agreement between the Municipality of La Spezia, the Eastern Ligurian Sea Port Authority, and the Consortium, the agreement covers the implementation of a building plan related to the District's operational project and the preliminary requirements for issuing subsequent building permits to implement the planned developments. The project is now entering its operational phase.

The area is located on a larger plot of land in Pagliari in the eastern part of the city bordering the Fossamastra-Pagliari dock via a private Enel road.

The project by the Levante Ligure Nautical Synergies Consortium, comprised of eight companies engaged in refits and repairs and other nautical sector activities, involves the renovation of the 2.268,20 square meter building located beneath the Lerici viaduct and the construction of three warehouses: one 1.462 square meter, a second 1.550,50 square meter, and a third 3.087 square meter. Specifically, the Consortium has been granted a 58.827 square meter area by the Municipality of La Spezia for the creation of an integrated recreational boating hub.

"I can only express great satisfaction," adds Giovanni Battagli, President of the "Sinergie Nautiche Levante Ligure" Consortium, "because it has been a long journey, but one we have strongly believed in, convinced that the nautical industry in La Spezia has become and will remain a driving force in the future. In addition to the large shipyards, there are medium and small artisan businesses that are an integral and fundamental part of the supply chain. I thank the companies that are part of the Consortium and have decided to invest and develop their existing businesses. These companies, along with Battagli srl, are: Motorvela srl, Nautilus 2001, Matrix Srl, Corte Lotti srl, Artsub srl, Programma Mare srl, and Antonini Massimo.

Mario Sommariva, President of the Port System Authority, stated: "The completion of the procedures to begin the development of the Nautical District in the "Casermette" complex represents another crucial step in the journey we, together with the Municipality of La Spezia, have undertaken to provide the region with future prospects in the industrial, commercial port, and nautical sectors. The planned investments by the Port System Authority, totaling over €2 million, with the construction of a dry dock and parking lots, will allow us to complete the reorganization of the areas made available to the associations and concessionaires relocated to the Pagliari Pier and, more generally, to provide new areas for shipbuilding companies for their crucial refitting activities. With this move, the concept of La Spezia as the world capital of nautical activities has been enriched by a key element, thus becoming fully concrete and effective. This is an important step and another positive example of institutional collaboration. It is the best way to achieve objectives in the general interest of the region."
