Videoworks equips a custom 67-meter Heesen Yachts
The Dutch shipyard is strengthening its partnership with the Italian group, which now has an international presence in several countries. Two additional Heesen yachts are under construction with Videoworks systems on board.

Videoworks, an Italian company specializing in the creation of professional Hi-Fi systems, announces the supply of a complete, customized audiovisual and IT package for the 67-meter yacht Sparta, marking the beginning of a close collaboration with Heesen Yachts, which specializes in custom, semi-custom, and production yachts from 50 to 80 meters.
The Videoworks system installed on Sparta – the company explains in a statement – is heavily customized based on the owner's needs: in particular for the graphic user interface that had to complement the yacht's exceptional Winch interiors, designed for elegant and harmonious onboard living, with an intense use of colors and natural themes in her interiors that is complemented by the MyInfo app that controls the AV system.
“MyInfo, now in its third generation, is Videoworks' award-winning iPad app that offers full control over Sparta's audio and video content,” explains Stefan Nieuwenhuys, general manager of Videoworks Europe BV. “This project required a highly customized graphical user interface, with some very specific icons and functions to adapt to the way the owner wanted to use the systems. To achieve this vision, Videoworks relied on its professional in-house IT team, which handled all the programming and design work.”
The high-end setup for a yacht of this size is a first for Heesen Yachts. A large centralized AV rack on the tank deck houses media servers and storage devices capable of delivering audio and video content to any part of the boat, from the cabins to the common areas inside and out. Speakers and subwoofers in every zone provide fantastic surround sound, even for the multiple 75-inch screens flush-mounted in the main salon.
“Being able to distribute audio and video centrally from a single point,” Nieuwenhuys continues, “makes the setup future-proof, as it allows us to upgrade to high-speed internet streaming services throughout the yacht without replacing any equipment. The upgrade is all ready, even the cable connecting to the Starlink antenna.”
The Sparta yacht took a long time to design and build, so the initial contact between Videoworks and Heesen Yachts dates back to 2021. In the meantime, Videoworks explains in its press release, the Dutch shipyard's team was able to evaluate the proposed solutions and the ease of working with the company, and the relationship has further developed: two other Heesen yachts are under construction with Videoworks systems onboard, and three more are currently being evaluated.
“From light and temperature sensors to occupancy sensors and energy meters, our intelligent automation systems go far beyond entertainment,” said Nieuwenhuys.
“It was a pleasure collaborating with Videoworks on the Sparta project. The team was incredibly responsive on some rather challenging custom features, and communication was excellent. We are a shipyard working on a number of custom and semi-custom yachts in various stages of construction, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Videoworks in the future,” said Piet van der Linden of Heesen Yachts.
