Rina has approved the new drawings and verified the engineering requirements allowing the complete conversion at the Damen Maaskant shipyard

Rina, the Italian classification society also active in the naval sector, has announced that the Dutch shipyard Damen Maaskant has transformed a fishing vessel into the explorer yacht recently renamed Scintilla Maris.
"We oversaw the entire conversion project of the vessel, which is now a yacht capable of accommodating up to 10 guests and 8 crew members," the Genoese classification society announced. "Our on-site team, in collaboration with the Yachting Plan Approval department, approved the new drawings and verified the engineering requirements, enabling the complete conversion from trawler to explorer."
Scintilla Maris was originally built in 1988, has a length of 45,6 meters, a beam of 9, a draft of 4,9 meters and a gross tonnage of 499 tons.
The naval architecture of the renovated explorer yacht, whose hull and superstructure are made of steel, is by Damen Maaskant Shipyards while the interiors are by Vripack.
Propulsion is provided by a Deutz AG engine capable of generating a maximum speed of 12 knots.
