The general assembly of Confindustria Nautica, held in Rome, was hosted at the headquarters of the ABI (Italian Banking Association). ABI's president, Antonio Patuelli, spoke about the sector and its relationship with the banking world, highlighting critical issues and opportunities.

"Problems, if any, are at the market level," he said, "with certain export phases; fiscal problems, as there have been periods in which the tax burden on the nautical industry has grown disproportionately; and bureaucratic problems regarding citizens' access to the nautical industry, which clearly need to be facilitated and not burdened with bureaucratic procedures."

Patuelli went on to say in more detail: “Clearly the banks demand, and must do so, to have transparent balance sheets, correct relationships with the tax authorities, industrial projects that are not improvisations, a summary of the achievements
"Promising and ethical, loyal, frank, and transparent behavior both towards the banking world and other stakeholders, buyers, and suppliers. Shipyards have become highly respected these days; Italian products are the most sought-after in the world."

The head of the Italian Banking Association concluded with a thought about the international context: "We are interested in the nautical industry not only for humanitarian and macroeconomic reasons, but also for a 'Mediterranean Sea of Peace.'" The Mediterranean is among the most nautically beautiful lands and regions in the world, and consequently, the conflicts in the Middle East and the Black Sea—the very widespread risks they pose—contrast macroeconomic issues and the daily grind."
