Scuola dei Mestieri

Following the success of the first edition held in the spring, Ferretti Group has launched the second edition of the Scuola dei Mestieri project, which began on November 13th in Forlì. The aim is to train specialized workers—particularly roofers and carpenters—for employment in luxury yacht production, including at the soon-to-open Ravenna plant.

The program, which lasts three months and comprises 500 hours, is designed for young people between the ages of 18 and 29 who want to take their first steps into the excellence of the Italian nautical industry. Lessons will be taught by technical professionals, former shipyard managers, and team leaders.

Following the first edition at the Forlì headquarters and the subsequent activation at the Mondolfo and Sarnico plants, the Group's goal for this second edition is to also focus on the recently acquired Ravenna construction site, to increase staffing in preparation for its opening. The class is made up of students from both the provinces of Ravenna and Forlì.

The School of Crafts is not just an extracurricular internship, but a professional development project that combines theory and on-site practice.

The theoretical part is structured as follows: an overview of materials and composite technologies and an engineering section, from construction principles to the types of systems present on the vessel, with a particular focus on the different types of semi-finished products and interior design. The practical part, in collaboration with the Cnos FA Forlì institute, initially takes place in a wood workshop and then continues at the shipyard.

In total, including the Forlì edition, there are over 50 interns who could be hired at the Ferretti Group shipyards.

"The exceptional skill of our workforce is the true strength of Made in Italy yachting and of Ferretti Group: a unique combination of talent, experience, and knowledge that only we can offer worldwide. This is why the School of Crafts is so crucial: we want to open our doors to young talent and equip them with the skills and abilities to maintain the unparalleled standards of excellence that distinguish us. We look forward to identifying new professionals to integrate into our shipyards, thus establishing a lasting and fruitful working relationship," stated Ferretti Group.
