The new Seadamp Plus mooring system on Wider catamarans
Unlike current systems, Seadamps constantly monitor the tension on the mooring lines and adapt automatically, improving stability and safety on board.

With the new partnership between Wider and Seares, a company active in the production of next-generation moorings that exploit the energy generated by wave motion, Wider catamarans will in future have the integrated Seadamp Plus system installed on board.
The technology behind Seares' Seadamp Plus mooring system, Wider explains in its press release, is Made in Italy, confirming that this designation is not only synonymous with style and exclusivity but also with technological innovation and respect for the environment.
Innovation and respect for the environment have always been key elements in the philosophy of both Wider, an Italian shipyard pioneering the Serial Hybrid Propulsion System, and Seares, a company founded in 2018 and a leader in the production of next-generation moorings that harness the energy generated by wave motion.
With this synergy, the two companies create a collaboration that confirms Wider's commitment to offering its catamaran owners exclusive and technologically advanced services, guaranteeing complete safety and comfort on board.
The integrated Seadamp Plus system, the press release explains, not only offers great stability and silence, but also recovers energy dissipated during docking and at anchor and converts it into electricity that helps recharge the onboard batteries. This is a unique solution, for which Seares holds the international patent.
Seadamp Plus will be installed as standard on the bow and stern mooring islands of the upcoming Wider catamarans. Unlike systems seen to date, Seadamps constantly monitor mooring line tension and automatically adjust, improving stability and safety onboard. Wider and Seares engineers have worked to ensure seamless structural integration within the hulls as well as into the onboard infotainment system, allowing owners and captains to monitor the catamaran's mooring tension from the dashboard and remotely via a simple app.
"The desire to always be at the forefront of technology," says Marcello Maggi, President of W-Fin Sarl, "is an integral part of our shipyard's DNA. We are proud of this partnership, which highlights the leading role that Italian nautical companies are able to successfully occupy."
"The partnership with Wider allows us to once again revolutionize the world of mooring for yachts and superyachts. The latest-generation Seares technology, integrated into the vessel's structure, enhances onboard comfort and offers maximum docking safety, adapting to a variety of weather and sea conditions," commented Seares CEO Giorgio Cucè.
